Several states have banned reproductive cloning. However, many of these states enacted these laws over the concern for their laws allowing research cloning. In fact, although the New Jersey law bans reproductive cloning, it would allow a cloned embryo to be implanted into a woman for any gestational period as long as the fetus were killed prior to birth. Welcome to the brave new world!
