The Book of Mormon describes agriculture in ancient America as being similar to that found in the Middle East during biblical times. The problem is that ancient Americans didn't utilize plow agriculture for growing crops such as wheat and barley. Crops that were grown by ancient Americans were depicted in their artwork, although most of those were not mentioned in the Book of Mormon.
